Filming an epic Car Jump Gone Bad during Evel Knievel Days

Legendary stuntman Spanky Spangler hoped to close-out the annual Evel Kneivel Days celebration in Butte, Montana with a world record car jump. Instead, he’s lucky to be alive after a catastrophic crash into his landing ramp left him trapped, upside-down, inside of his burning jump-car. Widespread Creative was there to film the event, capturing the brutal crash and amazing rescue effort.
After being pulled out of the fiery wreckage and in true daredevil fashion, Spanky insisted on getting off of the stretcher to address the crowd before being taken away in an ambulance. We’re happy to report that Spanky is out of the hospital and doing much better than expected considering the circumstances. Spanky is one of the toughest guys out there and we’re sure he’ll be back in the driver’s seat in no time.
